If you're always worrying, read this...
Do you always find yourself worrying in any given moment?
You wake up in the morning, your mind immediately goes to your never-ending to do list, and you worry if you’ll get any of it done, so you start the day with this nervous feeling in the pit of your stomach.
You’re having an intimate moment with your partner and your mind immediately goes to what you haven’t done yet today, and your partner becomes frustrated with you that you’re not present.
You walk away from a great catch up with friends, and you immediately worry about what you said, what they might be thinking of you, and re-run through everything that happened in an attempt to calm yourself down.
No matter how many mindfulness exercises, meditation and positive affirmations practices you do, you may gain temporary relief, but it doesn’t resolve the root cause, and the worrying thoughts keep coming back.
Why?
Because there’s a part of you that loves worrying and gains something from worrying.
Wait… what?
There are shadow parts of our personality that we hide and suppress from ourselves and the world, our unconscious, which ends up directing our life in order to be acknowledged and seen, whether we like it or not.
There is a part of you in your unconscious shadow that gains something from worrying, e.g. procrastinates, delays effort and hard work, prevents taking certain action e.g. putting yourself out there, in other words keeping you safe.
If you weren’t gaining something from this behaviour of worrying, you wouldn’t be doing it.
The moment you acknowledge what you gain from these types of ‘undesirable’ behaviours, the moment you take back control of your attention and energy, to create the behaviours you do want.
Shadow work helps you identify these unconscious self-saboteurs directing your behaviours, so you can let go of the relentless worrying and procrastination, and become more grounded, energised, achieving everything you’ve been putting off, and much more!
